Do I have to register to use the forums?

How do I introduce myself?

• From the main menu, click on Introduce Yourself.  From there, click on New Topic located at the top and bottom of the page.  You must be a registered user in order to introduce yourself.  introduce yourself

I have already registered on the layout gallery, do I need to register again on the message board?

• Yes!  Registration for the Message Board is separated from the Gallery.  If you register for the Gallery, you will need to also register for the Message Board and if you registered for the Message Board first, you will need to register again on the Gallery under the same username.  layout gallery registrations

How do I post (reply) to previous discussions going on the message board?

• Login. 
• Locate the post you wish to reply to.
• Click on the "Reply" link located at the top of the page.
• Type your response.
• Click the "Post Message" button.

How do I start a new topic?

• To start a new thread (topic), click the category you wish your topic to appear in (example...Scrap Talk, Non Scrap Talk, Beginner Scrapbookers..etc...) then click on New Topic Button. Give your thread a title (subject) and type a message in the message window. When you are finished typing a message, click Post Message. 

• Avatars are small graphics that are displayed under your username whenever you post.  You can either enter the URL to the image you wish to use, or upload an image directly from your computer.  To upload or change your avatar:
• click on Control Panel
• scroll down to "Avatar/Picture and add your photo under URL or upload a avatar.

How do I add smilies or blinkies to my posts?

To add smilies and blinkies to your posts

• Enter the information you would like to post
• Select the "" link from the tool bar
• A popup window will appear showing all the smilies and blinkies currently available for use on Roots Scrapbooking's message board
• click on selected smilie or blinkie and it will appear in your message box

How do I insert an image into my post?

1. Click the title of the forum you would like to post in.
2. Click the New Topic link.
3. Click the Insert Image icon.
4. Enter the Image URL and click the OK button.
5. The image should now automatically be loaded into your post.
6. Once you are finished creating your post, click the Post Message button.
