My name is Tina Cockburn and I am a professional photographer and
contributing designer at Simple Scrapbooks, and I live in San Diego. I have
been scrapbooking since 2002 when we were in the process of adopting our son
from Haiti. It's now five years later, we've added two more children to our
family and I'm still scrapping away.

I'm a "Simple Gal" with Simple Scrapbooks magazine and have been regularly
contributing layouts and photos for the past year or so. In fact, I've had
two photos and one layout on the cover, and I've been a featured
photographer in a few issues as well. It's been fabulous! I've also been
published in Creating Keepsakes and Scrapbook Trends magazines and had a few
design team gigs.

I love what scrapbooking meant to me and what it will mean to my family in
the years to come.

Hi Tina. I've seen you and your wonderful work in Simple Scrapbooks magazine. Very, very impressive. And your family is beautiful! Thanks for sharing them with us.

Also, welcome to Roots Scrapbooking and congrats on being this months Featured Designer. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

And I'm so glad you've been enjoying my work in the magazine. I'm always so unsure of how readers react to the stuff I've done and it's awesome to get some positive feedback.

School starts tomorrow for The Bigs (what we call our two oldest - Nadia is The Baby) so today has been kinda crazy getting last-minute new school stuff taken care of.

Tina! Your layouts are simply beautiful!!!

What issue of Simple Scrapbook was one of your layouts on the cover? I would love to see it. You have a beautiful family. Did you adopt all 3 of your kids from Haiti or just your oldest?

My layout and photo were on the cover of March/April 2007. The baby is my best friend's daughter. I had a photo on the cover of the Album Shortcuts special issue which came out this summer. The amazing mini-album featuring my photo was done by the uber talented Tia Bennett. I was also one of the "featured photographers" in the "Better Photos for Your Scrapbooks" special issue from late last year and that issue also featured several of my layouts.

I love having my gorgeous babes in the magazine - color things up a bit. =)

Our son, our oldest child, was our only Haitian adoption. Our two girls were both domestic adoptions. And the baby was the only birth we got to experirence. And what an amazing event that was. We continue to have an open relationship with her birth mother and we love her and her other children like family. Adoption has been such a blessing to us all.

Thanks again for all the great welcome messages. Keep your eyes open for a challenge from me this weekend.

my sister-in-law and her husband where able to be in the delivery room for the adoption of their daughter too. I think that is wonderful that they allow the new parents to experience the delivery. Congratulations to you for having such a big heart and adopting not once, but 3 times.

Oh great! I look forward to your challenge.

I found your cover stories. It is one thing to have your layouts published inside the magazines, but to make the cover, that's BIG. I think this is a first here on RS. You do great photography...btw

Thanks for posting those images. I'm still blown away by it all and find myself channeling the "Wayne's World" dudes in a chorus of "I'm not worthy" on a regular basis.

And the challenge is posted in the Challenges forum for any of you willing to play along. There's a RAK involved! (RAK = Random Act of Kindness = free scrapping stuff from my stash)
